Easy Mom Outfits for Drop-Off and Pickup

Drop-off happens fast, pickup happens in a hurry, and in between there's everything else. I want outfits I don't have to think about that still make me feel put together. These are the five formulas I rotate.

1. Elevated leggings

Good leggings, a longer top or sweater that covers, and clean sneakers. It's the easiest "I tried" outfit there is.

2. Jeans and a great sweater

A relaxed straight jean, a soft sweater and a simple flat or sneaker. Add a gold hoop and you're done.

3. The matching set

One decision, two pieces. A knit or sweat set looks intentional and feels like pajamas.

4. Easy dress + layer

On warm days, a knit or cotton dress with a denim jacket or cardigan and sneakers.

5. The throw-on jacket

When the outfit underneath isn't much, a great jacket or shacket does all the work.

The accessories doing the heavy lifting

A good bag, sunglasses and a claw clip make any of these look finished.

My rule: if I can't get dressed in the dark in under two minutes, it doesn't go in the weekday rotation.
